Welcome!
Hi, my name is Kevin Walsh.

I trained as a Family Medicine physician and then practiced for 36 years in small rural towns in NE Arizona, the Colorado Front Range, the Yakima Valley and the Cascade foothills. Since retiring in 2021, I have devoted myself to abstract painting in oil and cold wax.

Practicing medicine requires a special devotion to objectivity on behalf of your patients.
Painting asks something very different. Wandering in the right-side of my brain is an adventure like nothing else. To ‘evoke’ asks us to open ourselves to memory, emotion, known and unknown personal history, our psyche, even our dreams. To ‘evoke’ asks us to pay attention, to let what is churning deep inside us be noticed.

I am filled with gratitude for the opportunity to explore this ‘new territory’ through painting.
For almost 3 decades I lived and raised a family in central Washington. Two years ago, my wife and I moved to Hood River.
